Signal Technology's switch matrix subsystems are key to performing the mission-critical and highly complex task of managing the distribution of multiple voice and data transmissions on a real-time basis.

Driven by the rapid expansion of fiber-optic transport and access networks, mainly in telecommunications, as well as military/aerospace and specialty/instrumentation market segments, the future growth of photonic switching will be dominated in dollar value by complex switch matrix systems but in quantity by conventional switches (Figure 1).
