The vulnerability in the widespread Microsoft Outlook Express software occurs when using a Windows Address Book file, and could allow attackers to take complete control of targeted systems.
The worm, if activated, e-mails itself out to all the addresses found in the Windows address books, copies itself into the files on the PC's hard drive, and attempts to drop a section of text onto the hard drive carrying a message of support for 'Fathers 4 Justice' and berating the British Prime Minister.
In order to send its copies via e-mail, the worm scans the Windows Address Book and DBX (also used in Outlook Express) databases and checks these with a ll found addresses.
As well as using names from the Windows address book it can also send infected emails to addresses found in temporary internet files from recently visited websites.
