Thanks to financial support from Birdlife Netherlands through the Global Flyway Network, the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network through the Manomet Bird Observatory in Massachusetts, and the stewardship provided by the Fundacion Inalafquen, this wetland has become extremely well monitored and was a centrepiece in international efforts to protect stopover sites.
