About TATRC: The Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), a subordinate element of the United States Army Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), is charged with managing core Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) and congressionally mandated projects in telemedicine and advanced medical technologies.
The equipment donation is part of a larger collaborative research and development effort involving Karl Storz and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in partnership with the Omaha VA Medical Center (VAMC) and the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) of the U.
Vice Admiral Carmona's editorial includes excerpts of a speech he made on the defense and international implications of telemedicine at the annual meeting of the American Telemedicine Association (Orlando, Florida, April 26, 2003), in a session organized by the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center.
He is both a consultant to the Army's Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center, as well as to the Air Force, and has served on the Department of Defense Telemedicine Board of Directors with the Surgeon Generals of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
