What does SUB stand for?

BCSS has a library of subroutines that handles more than 100 functions that access the Thales HSMs and thus eliminates the need to know Thales proprietary host commands.

Lessons are described both in the booklet and as video instruction on the accompanying DVD, covering the basics of printing strings; creating and running a Perl program; arrays, lists, looping statements, and command line arguments; making common tasks simple with hashes; defining and calling subroutines to make reusable code; reading and writing files and using implicit variable; finding and using Perl modules and the Perl portal; and using regular expressions for pattern matching and text manipulation.

The manual also includes instruction in learning to use Visual Basic for Applications, add macros to the Excel toolbar, create variables and arrays, create VBA subroutines and functions, format cells using macros, develop interactive macros and add controls to worksheets.

In the course of running the code, we discovered that a specific subroutine did not work.
