Colombo, April 2 -- In the wake of the of the global downturn, the Sri Lanka Chamber of Small Industry (SLCSI) yesterday called on the government to give a bailout package for Small and Medium Industries (SMI) similar to that which was given to Finance Companies and called on the government to suspend some of the labour laws to allow lay-offs and prevent it being challenged in court until the present crisis is over.
