The division consists of the Strike/Land Attack, Air Defense, and System Assessment Groups and the Strike/Land Attack Weapons, Air Platform, C4ISR, Surface Ship, Ship Self Defense and Theater Air Defense Subdivisions.
By relying on open architecture in systems such as the Navy's Ship Self Defense System and the Army's Future Combat Systems, the military is able to reduce costs, quickly deploy new solutions and facilitate the rapid exchange of information between soldiers, weapons, sensors and command platforms.
Raytheon Company has completed the first delivery of its open architecture Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Mk 2 hardware configuration for installation onboard the U.
Under the contract, awarded by the Naval Systems Sea Command, BAE Systems Technology Solutions will serve as prime contractor and will provide engineering work in the areas of Aegis Weapon System Baselines, Combat Systems, Open Architecture, Strike Force, Ship Self Defense, and Foreign Military Sales for Aegis Class Ships for Japan, Norway, Spain, and Korea.
