2009 A VOLUNTEER has enabled a charity to do more after calling on his company bosses to make a donation Local charity Severn Area Rescue Association (Sara) has been awarded funding by National Express West Midlands following a heartfelt application from one its auto electricians, Steve Bradley, who volunteers for the organisation in his spare time.
Among those being honoured for their efforts at a ceremony in Hereford, are community first responders and their fundraisers, voluntary car drivers, Severn Area Rescue Association, St John Ambulance, Hereford 4 x 4 club, firefighters from Staffordshire and an air ambulance fundraiser.
Their battalion boarded flights home but the Teesside soldiers chose to cycle back to the UK to raise funds for Cancer Research, the Army Benevolent Fund and Severn Area Rescue Association charities.
