This latest improvement scheme is one of four school safety zones being introduced this year.

The works at Wilden comprised of School Safety Zone signs with flashing amber units to reduce the speed limit of cars travelling along Wilden Road to 20mph during school times.

The donation from Panasonic's Security & Digital Imaging Company, Security Systems Group, launched their School Safety Zone Program, which is intended to help bolster school security while channeling students' interest to pursue careers in the security market.

A school safety zone traffic scheme is also planned.

A Stockton Council spokeswoman said: "We're progressing with a school safety zone which is likely to incorporate driver feedback signs, parking restrictions and possibly a school crossing point.

Proposed safety features include new and improved carriageway markings, a mini roundabout, school safety zone and two zebra crossings.

The team is hosting an exhibition on the School Safety Zone - a proposal featuring various improvements on roads around the school.
