One area of research that seems particularly relevant is whether or not educational leadership candidates in states that require the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) exam would benefit from efforts to incorporate this or a similar problem solving model into the preparation curriculum.
When the state adopted the School Leaders Licensure Assessment for new school principals in 1998, those teaching the future administrators felt their students were prepared to demonstrate knowledge of the standards.
The School Leaders Licensure Assessment, created by ISLLC and the Educational Testing Service, is not an evaluation tool for practitioners, and there could be dangerous legal implications if used for that purpose.
