Cordray alleged the agencies' artificially high ratings cost the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund $83 million; the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System $222 million; the State Teachers Retirement System $85 million; School Employees Retirement System $48 million; and Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program $19 million.
The Ohio lawsuit is being brought on behalf of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio and the Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program.
CMSD's pension and OPEB liabilities are managed through the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) and the School Employees Retirement System (SERS), with the district meeting its annually required contribution of a portion of covered payroll.
