Different studies suggest that the cost per quality-adjusted life year for switching for 2-3 years is approximately half that of 5 years' aromatase inhibitor treatment.
But if someone has a medical condition that impacts quality of life, one year of life might be considered equal to less than one quality-adjusted life year.
