What does PTA stand for?

ISLAMABAD, November 03, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Pakistan and Indonesia would sign Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) early next year to boost economic activities and exploit trade potential between the two countries.

Scholars of economics and business from around the Pacific and from international organizations consider such topics as domestic dimensions of the trade liberalization agenda, the Asian automotive industry as a case study of integrating small and medium-sized enterprises in international production networks, measuring and modeling restrictions on trade in services, trade liberalization and poverty in Bangladesh, and assessing the impacts of preferential trade agreements in the Asian and Pacific region.

The Iranian indication of utilising $200 million as trade finance is meant for increase in bilateral trade between the two countries that is already being performed under Pak-Iran Preferential Trade Agreement.

The Minister for Water and Power , Raja Pervez Ashraf in his opening address said that Pakistan attaches great importance to Preferential Trade Agreement and stressed the need for its early finalization as it will help to boost trade ties between the two countries.
