What does PORAC stand for?

Enrique Gasca, 31, has raised $100,000 and is endorsed by Local 500 of the California School Employees Association, the Los Angeles School Police Association, Congressman Joe Baca and the Peace Officers Research Association of California.

Californians Against Higher Taxes, No on 87, is a coalition of more than 200 groups and individuals including the California Taxpayers' Association, California Small Business Alliance, California Chamber of Commerce, Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), California Farm Bureau Federation, California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Regional Council of Rural Counties, California State Firefighters' Association, Air Transport Association of America, Western Growers Association, California Black Chamber of Commerce, Western States Petroleum Association, The Seniors Coalition, Small Business Action Committee, California Independent Grocers and Convenience Stores, Nisei Farmers League, California Council of Asian Business Associations and Consumers First.

Democratic rival Jim Dantona has touted endorsements that he has received from several other public-safety groups, including the Southern California Alliance for Law Enforcement and the Peace Officers Research Association of California.

The CAHP, the labor organization that represents more than 11, 000 active and retired CHP officers statewide, presented a check for $10,000 to the "California to New York Law Enforcement Trust" matching gifts from the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) and Golden One Credit Union in the effort.

New members joining the coalition in their efforts include the California State Grange; American Federation of State and County Municipal Employees; and the Peace Officers Research Association of California.
