Byline: Kelly Ardis The Register-Guard COTTAGE GROVE - Thanks in part to its history museum, heritage events and historic preservation program, Cottage Grove has become the second city in the state to receive an "Oregon Heritage All-Star Community" designation by the Oregon Heritage Commission.
Fifty-eight percent of money raised through the Trust will be placed in an endowment fund, with the remaining 42 percent being distributed annually through grants to Oregon non-profits supporting arts and culture in the state, to county and tribal cultural coalitions and to Cultural Partners (Oregon Arts Commission, Oregon Council for the Humanities, Oregon Heritage Commission, Oregon Historical Society, and the State Historic Preservation Office).
