May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Orange County Community Foundation President Shelley Hoss has been named chair of the League of California Community Foundations, a statewide partnership that fosters collaboration among community foundations to advance philanthropy throughout California.

Grant's history of civic involvement spans more than 10 years and includes serving as a board member and in other capacities for 13 organizations, including the Orange County Community Foundation, United Way and the Pediatric Adolescent Diabetes and Research Foundation.

Thirty-two local nonprofit organizations received $832,500 in "See the Need, Seed the Change" grant funding on April 29 from the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) to provide food, shelter and critical aid to families, children and seniors impacted by the economic crisis.

The Children and Families Commission of Orange County provided support and funding through the Orange County Community Foundation and a committee of The Health Funder's Partnership of Orange County to plan for and develop this new community-based organization.

Administered by the Orange County Community Foundation, the Orange County Hispanic Education Endowment Fund was established in 1989 to provide special financial support for deserving Hispanic students who are pursuing post-secondary education.
