The Unmanned Mission Module part of AMAS, which includes a high performance LIDAR sensor, a second GPS receiver and additional algorithms, is installed as a kit and can be used on virtually any military vehicle.
Acquisition and maintenance of the seaframe and mission modules were previously overseen by two different PEOs - PEO Ships and PEO Littoral and Mine Warfare (PEO LMW), respectively.
Each system consists of an operator control unit, a robotic chassis platform with video capability, digital communications/audio relay modules (plug in/out), and advanced sensors/ mission modules.
