Since Digital University's inception in July 2007, nearly 3,000 Soldiers have been trained on any number of tactical systems, including the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System, the Maneuver Control System, the Command Post of the Future, the Distributed Common Ground System-Army, and Blue Force Tracker.
Eighth Army transformation also delivers significant technological advances through the fielding of the Army battle command systems-a family of 11 battle-command systems including but not limited to: global command and control system-Army, maneuver control system, Force XXI Battle Command-BDE and Below, advanced field artillery tactical data system and the battle-command sustainment and support system.
The centers offer classroom instruction, such as AFATDS, All Source Analysis System-Light, Maneuver Control System, Force XXI Battle Command Brigadeand Below/Blue Force Tracker, and Command-and-Control Personal Computer.
After subtracting the costs for six final reports (Joint Common Missile (JCM), Longbow Hellfire, Maneuver Control System (MCS), Navy Extremely High Frequency Satellite Communications System (NESP), Standard Missile-2 (SM-2), and B-1 B Conventional Mission Upgrade Program (CMUP)), and adding the costs for three new programs (Mission Planning System (MPS), Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS)) from the December 2004 reporting period, the adjusted current estimate of program acquisition costs was $1,474,122.
AMPS will allow the Army Aviator to access Joint Common Database data from the Maneuver Control System ("MCS"); receive situational data from the All Source Analysis System ("ASAS"); interact through TACFIRE messages with in-flight OH-58H Kiowa helicopters; and review the latest weather situations from the Integrated Meteorological System ("IMETS").
The Army's systems of record were Maneuver Control System at the tactical operations center (TOC) level and Force XXI battle command brigade and below (FBCB2) at the platform level.
