Two new branches of the Los Angeles County Public Library are in the works to serve Castaic and Acton, with $3.
The fund-raiser is sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Friends of the Libraries, a 230-member volunteer organization that provides the three local branches with materials and supplies unavailable from the Los Angeles County public library system, said Vice President Chris Campbell.
``For a library of its size, it's very busy,'' said Robert Seal, assistant regional administrator for the County of Los Angeles County Public Library.
AVC will receive the grant from the GTE Foundation to link the college by computer with California State University, Northridge; California State University, Dominguez Hills; College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita; and the Los Angeles County Public Library system.
Checks can be made out to Los Angeles County Public Library Foundation and brought or mailed to the library at 1150 W.
