What does LRE stand for?

The goal of Justice Teaching is to pair a legal professional with every elementary, middle, and high school in the state of Florida, to galvanize law-related education, and to provide a permanent structure for comprehensive civics education.

The grants were awarded to: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA NH), Manchester; Disabilities Rights Center, Concord: Franklin Pierce Civil Practice Clinic, Concord; International Institute of New Hampshire, Manchester; Law School Loan Forgiveness, Concord: Legal Advice & Referral Center, Concord; New Hampshire Bar Association Reduced-Fee Referral Service, Concord; New Hampshire Legal Assistance; Concord; New Hampshire Pro Bono Referral Program Domestic Violence Emergency Project, Concord; The Support Center at Burch House, Littleton; New Hampshire Bar Association Law-Related Education Program, Concord.

This November issue of The Florida Bar Journal will explore the need for civic and law-related education, the roles and responsibilities of the legal profession in meeting this need, and current efforts to expand civic education by the profession and other organizations.

Through the grant, the recipients will help interested agencies set up Law-Related Education (LRE) programs in their states.

In recognition of Gannon's abilities, in the fall of 2000, she was selected by the National Law-Related Education Consortium to be California's State Coordinator of Law-Related Education.
