He is a senior member and 1st Vice-Chair of the American Society for Quality's Cleveland chapter; Founder/Chair of the Regulatory Compliance Group of ASQ; an associate/fellow of the Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) in the United Kingdom; and a registered IRCA QMS Auditor.
Arens holds a degree in production engineering from the Birmingham Polytechnic University and is a chartered engineer, a fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a member of the Institute of Quality Assurance and Institute of Directors.
