The Chinese state-owned oil company, China National Petroleum (CNPC) is the largest investor in the Khartoum's Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company through its 40% stakes.
The oilfield is run by the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company (GNPOC), a consortium of four oil companies from China, India, Malaysia and Sudan.
