Her accomplishments as a performer, teacher, lecturer, author and founder of two international professional music organizations European Piano Teachers Association in 1978 and the International Society for the Study of Tension in Performance in 1981--has made a significant impact on the field of piano teaching worldwide and makes her a very deserving recipient of this prestigious recognition.

Williams has been invited to present papers at international conferences including the 2000 conference of the European Piano Teachers Association and the 2002 biennial meeting of the International Society for Music Education.
My vision certainly includes our ongoing efforts to expand our partnerships with the Canadian Federation of Music Teacher's Association, the European Piano Teachers Association, the International Society for Music Education, Support music.
During the past two years, Gary Ingle and I have traveled to China for the premier Beijing Music Festival, sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, and to Italy for the annual conference of the European Piano Teachers Association.
MTNA Executive Director Gary Ingle and I also have had the opportunity to be the invited guests of the Beijing Music Festival, sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Culture in the summer of 2004, and to attend the European Piano Teachers Association Conference in Rome, Italy, in October 2004.
