In Yale University's 2008 Environmental Performance Index, Sweden is ranked as the world's third-most environmentally friendly country.

He also notes that 80% of environmental costs are due to wasted resources, regardless of their form, which is why the company implemented its FEEW environmental performance index, for the loss of raw materials in effluents (F), emissions (E), energy (E) and waste (W).
In an announcement at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in January 2006 in Davos, Switzerland, the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) ranked New Zealand first out of 133 countries in the areas of health, biodiversity, energy, water, air, and natural resources, with the country earning 88 out of 100 possible points.
New Zealand was also the number one nation on the international Environmental Performance Index (EPI), with a score of 88 (followed by Sweden, with 87.
New Zealand was at the top of the list, called the 2006 Environmental Performance Index, followed by five nations from northern Europe.
