Landowners along the planned route filed a request with Canada s highest court, asking permission to appeal the Court of Appeal of Alberta s decision to uphold MATL s Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) permit.
Alberta (Energy and Utilities Board) in favour of the landowners who challenged the decision of the former Energy and Utilities Board (the EUB) concerning the "need" for a proposed 500 kV transmission line from the Edmonton to Calgary areas.

The Paper describes changes the DOE intends to make to the mandates of implementing agencies, including the Independent System Operator (ISO), the Market Surveillance Administrator, the Balancing Pool and the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB).
