The survey was commissioned by the LSC to highlight the benefits of the education maintenance allowance (EMA).
New research released by the Learning and Skills Council shows the benefits of education maintenance allowance.
A total of 30,250 Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) grants were paid out to 16 to 18-year-olds in Wales as part of a scheme to encourage them to stay at school according to Welsh Assembly Government statistics.

A total of 8,313 youngsters in the Tees Valley are benefiting from the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
The Scottish Executive operates its own education maintenance allowance scheme, but it mirrors the English system and the same cash will be available to children in Scotland through the combination of EMAs and child tax credits.
