What does DTAU stand for?

RICHARDSON, Texas -- White Rock Networks announces the introduction of the VLX1020 C/DWDM System and the addition of Ethernet hardware protection and integrated Digital Test Access Unit (DTAU) to its VLX2020 Optical Transport System.

Under the agreement, Monet will deploy Spirent's REACT(TM) remote test management OSS (operations support system), Mini enhanced Digital Test Access Unit (Mini eDTAU) and Broadband Remote Test Unit (BRTU), as well as the related central office engineering and installation required for rapid system deployment.

IWO is expected to realize significant operating efficiencies from two key aspects of Spirent's wireless service assurance solution: the ability of Spirent's digital network probes to interoperate with a wide range of digital cross-connect systems and digital test access units (DCSs and DTAUs); and the expert analysis capabilities of the remote test OSS, which facilitate automatic execution of multiple simultaneous tests -- returning faster results on a larger number of circuits than would be possible using manual methods.

The NSBU includes ADA's Digital Test Management product line: T3AS Test and Performance Monitoring System, an in-line digital test access unit with network access at DS3 and DS1 rates; Centralized Test System (CTS), a test system for digital cross-connect systems; Network Embedded Protocol Analysis (NEPA), technology for management of Frame Relay, ATM and IP networks; and TestOS, an operations system software application for control of testing, monitoring and analysis systems including T3AS, CTS, NEPA and test and analysis systems from other suppliers.
