Demand responsive transport or demand responsive transit is "an advanced, user-oriented form of public transport characterized by flexible routing and scheduling of small/medium vehicles operating in shared-ride mode between pick-up and drop-off locations according to passengers needs".
The system is used by a wide range of transport providers to plan demand responsive transport in key areas such as social services and education as well as taxi scheduling and voluntary car schemes.
