Had President Daniel Fogel consulted with UVM's College of Nursing and Health Sciences and with our Office of Nursing Workforce, Research, Planning and Development, he would have discovered that we already have a state-funded loan repayment program and that this strategy does not address the real issue of market disparity affecting nurse faculty recruitment and retention, including experienced faculty without outstanding loans.
