Eight single-page educational handouts were developed with a dietitian and certified dietary manager to address everyday eating habits: * Nutrition basics * Explanation of body mass index * Tips for choosing healthy foods when eating out * Fats of life * How to read food labels * Myths and facts about snacking * Use of salt * Facts about sugar The nutrition education program involved reviewing these handouts with clients.

Given that directive, DMA will focus its efforts during the next few years on the importance of safety and sanitation as the responsibility of certified dietary managers in their facilities.

GHS has added continuing education credits for its dietary and housekeeping training programs to provide further incentive for registered dietitians, certified dietary managers, administrators, property managers and others to attend and participate in its programs.

In addition to our staff podiatrist--who reviews any concerns we have about potential complications, makes regular visits to our facility and is on call to help with any problems that arise--we also have a consultant dietitian and certified dietary manager who are involved.
