In recent years, Kyrgyzstan has adopted a number of international and national commitments on gender equality and women's rights, including the Beijing Platform for Action, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, UN Millennium Declaration, National Gender Strategy and Action Plan for its Implementation, and many others.
