Rather than creating new FSCM or new ways of thinking, old concepts and some FSCM were merely redefined to fit the new circumstances--one notable exception is the battlefield coordination line (BCL), which I address later in this article.
Note the battlefield coordination line (BCL) was created in response to scenarios where placement of the fire support coordination lines (FSCLs) was directed by a higher headquarters, usually a commander-in-chief (CINC).
