What does BLA stand for?

Armed activists of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) gunned down a senior professor of Balochistan University, police and witnesses said on Friday.

Organisations included in the list of outlawed groups include-Jammat-ud-Dawah (JuD), Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), JeM, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariah Muahammadi, Al-Akhtar Trust, Al-Rasheed Trust, Tehreek-e-Islami, Islamic Students Movement, Khair-un-Nisa International Trust, Islami Tehreek-e-Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Islam, Balochistan Liberation Army, Jamiat-un-Nisar, Khadam Islam and Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan.

The government recently blamed India and Afghanistan for fomenting insurgency in Balochistan by backing outlawed militant group calling itself Balochistan Liberation Army.

Islamabad: Pakistan yesterday accused neighbour India of fomenting insurgency in its southwestern Balochistan province by backing a banned militant group calling itself Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

Malik Wednesday informed the Upper House of the Parliament that India is backing the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) for fuelling insurgency in the province and creating unrest.

He further revealed that foreign powers including Russia, India and Afghanistan were involved in destabilizing Pakistan and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has full support of India and Russia, adding nearly 1000 students completed training from Russia and now present in the province.

Earlier, Malik had told Senate members that India is backing the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to cause disturbance and ignite insurgency in the region.
