Under the new regulations, a contractor is required to engage in affirmative action for the following veterans categories: Disabled veteran Recently separated veteran Other protected veteran Armed Forces service medal veteran Only those contractors that have original, unmodified contracts entered into prior to December 1, 2003, in the amount of $25,000 or more, and who have contracts for $100,000 or more since December 1, 2003, will have to comply with both sets of regulations.
