PeopleSoft's open framework enables easy integration with other campus systems and simplifies the data collection required by state regulatory agencies such as the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE).

Arkansas' public universities received from the state about 75 percent of the cost of higher education for most of the 20th century, with students and parents picking up the remaining 25 percent, said Jim Purcell, director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
