During those years, the AAUG published an impressive number of books and information pieces on all aspects of the Arab world as well as the peer review journal, The Arab Studies Quarterly.
For many years Samih was a distinguished editor of Arab Studies Quarterly and served as President of the Arab American University Graduates (AAUG).
AS THE ARAB STUDIES QUARTERLY APPROACHES the end of its 26th year of continuous publication, it is a fitting time to pay tribute to two of its founding fathers--Ibrahim Abu-Lughod and Edward Said.
IBRAHIM ABU-LUGHOD, one of the original founders of Arab Studies Quarterly and its parent organization, the Association of Arab-American University Graduates, passed away on 23 May, in Ramallah, Palestine, after a long illness.
Haddadin and John Kolars, earlier renditions of the papers in this special issue of Arab Studies Quarterly were presented at that symposium.
He is also a former editor of Arab Studies Quarterly.
This issue of Arab Studies Quarterly, the flagship publication of the Association of Arab-American University Graduates, commemorates the 30th anniversary of the June War, by offering several analytical pieces that will help us understand the past in order to better deal with the future.
It is with great sadness that I and the other editors of the Arab Studies Quarterly say farewell to a friend, Elmer Berger, who died on 6 October 1996.
